Devon Women are back in action this weekend for the 2nd round of the Natwest Women’s T20 County competition.

After winning their first 2 games last weekend, the women are now on the road with the first stop at Northamtonshire’s County Ground to face Northants Women in the first game of the day, followed by Cheshire Women.

“Two wins last week was a good start to our T20 campaign” said Head Coach Trevor Griffin “however we didn’t play our best cricket and we know that this weekend will be a tougher encounter.  Our pace bowlers know they were off the mark but they’ve had a week to take responsibility for that and work on their skills so I’m expecting to see improvements on Sunday.  I was impressed with our two debutants Rebecca Halliday and Maddie Hollified, they both bowled well and worked hard in the field.  These are two players we will be watching for the future” continued Trevor.

Devon welcome back Amara Carr and Sophie Mackenzie, but miss Hazelle Garton & Rebecca Donohue who are unavailable.  After impressing last weekend, Rebecca Halliday is retained in the squad, and is joined by Steph Hutchins who’s called up for her first full Senior outing.

“There was some good reflection at the end of the last round” said captain Jodie Dibble “we didn’t play as well as we know we can and I will be looking for a marked improvement this time around.  We want to play Division 1 cricket and it’s important we are ruthless in our performance” continued Jodie.  “We’re looking forward an improved performance this weekend and the opportunity to play at a first class ground, which doesn't happen often”.

Devon’s 1st game starts at 10:30am
