As it had been in 2018 the one day game against Gloucestershire had looked extremely doubtful, this time due to prolonged light rain which had been predicted from at least ten days in advance of the fixture. The now numerous weather apps had indicated light rain for around four hours starting at noon. In 2018, at Bishopston. it had been torrential rain with the bonus of thunder and lightning. Last year we had completed warms ups this year warm ups and five overs were bowled. Reminders were given to the squad before play started and the warm up nearly reached the required standard and the bowling and fielding was tighter. There was then no further opportunity to demonstrate lessons had been learnt as an early excellent lunch was taken. This was after another major dilemma had been discussed. It was good to welcome the ideal role model, Sam Woodcock, back into the fold and give Adam Small his first run out of the season with the seventeens. Exeter Cricket Club were there awesome selves and we look forward to another five days at the County Ground this summer.

Now for Somerset, in a weeks time at Seaton, where the previously predicated light rain is currently off the radars - fingers are crossed!!
